PeakBridge, a global FoodTech venture capital firm, has announced four new seed investments through its FoodSparks® fund. The selected startups—GanEden, KÄÄPÄ Biotech, SOUS, and Evinature—reflect key trends in food innovation, from plant-based products to clinical-grade botanicals and digital transformation in food services.

According to Yoni Glickman, Managing Director of PeakBridge FoodSparks®, these investments “exemplify the potential within FoodTech to address real-world challenges,” targeting unmet needs in ingredients, nutrition, health, and digitization.

GanEden: Simplifying Plant-Based Indulgence

Amsterdam-based GanEden is focused on upgrading plant-based ice cream. The company offers a clean-label alternative that uses natural fibers and plant-based proteins to replace more than half the sugar typically found in frozen desserts. The product meets both health and sustainability criteria, and it’s already available in over 300 retail locations in Israel. With an eye on B2B scaling and expansion into related dairy-free categories like yogurt and cream cheese, GanEden is positioning itself as more than a product—it’s aiming to build a broader platform.

KÄÄPÄ Biotech: Traceable, High-Potency Mushroom Extracts

Finland’s KÄÄPÄ Biotech brings a vertically integrated approach to the booming functional mushroom market. The company controls its supply chain from spore to extract, leveraging ultrasound-assisted extraction for enhanced bioavailability. With products in over 20 countries and a customer base of more than 180 companies, KÄÄPÄ combines Nordic sourcing with strict quality controls to meet increasing demand for traceable and effective mushroom ingredients in wellness products.

SOUS: Streamlining the Digital Pivot for Food Entrepreneurs

SOUS offers an end-to-end digital platform that helps chefs and small food businesses manage online operations, from storefronts to logistics. With AI-powered CRM tools and no-code interfaces, SOUS enables independent food operators to launch recurring revenue models and reduce waste through better demand forecasting. In two years, the platform has supported over 120 merchants in the Netherlands and Belgium, helping them serve more than 200,000 customers and generate €10 million in added revenue.

Evinature: Botanical Therapeutics for IBD

Evinature focuses on gut health, starting with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The company’s flagship product, CurQD, has undergone randomized controlled trials and is now used in over 40 U.S. medical centers. With more than 13,000 patients treated and a market opportunity in the $21 billion GI health sector, Evinature aims to fill a gap left by conventional treatments with a validated, plant-based approach.

Strategic Cohort with Growth Potential

These four additions complete the current FoodSparks® cohort, selected for both market potential and ability to meet tangible consumer and industry needs. They reflect broader shifts in how food is produced, consumed, and sold—with implications for sustainability, health, and digital integration.

For PeakBridge, these investments also signal a focused strategy: backing companies that don’t just follow trends but aim to lead within them.
