The broader category of Bioenergy & Biomaterials attracted $3 billion in 2023—a 20% year-over-year increase—making it the largest funded category in agrifood tech. Such investments highlight the growing interest in bioplastics and the crucial role of capital in scaling these technologies to meet global sustainability goals.
